Time to get this smart bunch all set up. When you’re not there, sensors and devices will be. 24/7 monitoring of daily activities to let you know when something’s off. No video, no audio. Thank heaven.
Setup can only happen at the location where sensors will be monitoring activity, so whaddya say we take this to your Senior’s place? It’s their patterns we want to track, after all!
The Hub is the brains behind the operation. And boy, is it smart. Connect it to the internet and it will wirelessly communicate with all sensors. First, let’s link The Hub to your account.
For quick tips and helpful hints, here’s The Plan. For all your technical information and mounting instructions, please go to the Hub Manual.
Note: Hold up! No battery-inserting or tab-pulling action just yet. The Hub will look for devices as soon as batteries are installed. So, only do that for each device at the time of connection. Do not put batteries in all devices at once. Actually, you know what, just follow these steps:
Connect your Hub’s Antenna(s)
1. Before you power on your Hub, you’ll want to install the ‘Whip Antenna’.
2. The Whip Antenna is installed by screwing it into the side of your Hub
Do not over tighten! Just enough to secure it to the hub. In the end, your antenna should be pointed straight up.
Connecting your Stand Alone Antenna
Your Hub has backup cellular service in case of internet outages! Only if your home has poor cell reception, we recommend adding the Stand Alone Antenna too!
Find the connector on the end of the Stand Alone Antenna cable and screw it into the gold SMA connector location on the bottom of your Hub. Just like the other antenna Do not over tighten it. When installed just securely enough, try to place the Stand Alone antenna as far from your Hub, closest to a window as possible.
Now that we’re done with all things antenna, you’re ready for next steps!
Registering your Hub:
1. We’ll need access to your camera to scan the QR code on the back of The Hub and register the device, so we’ll ask for permission first. We have manners. Hold the camera up to the QR code. Once it’s scanned, it will move forward to the next steps.

2. Important: Plug the power cable into the back of The Hub and the power adapter into an electrical outlet close to the router, so you can easily connect the Ethernet cable (we will get to it later).
3. Select ‘Next’ on the app when the device is powered on.
4. Connect your Hub to the internet using the Ethernet cable we included in your Starter Kit. It’s the easiest and fastest way to do it—plug one end into the back of The Hub and the other one into your Wi-Fi router.

Although routers come in all shapes and sizes, most of them have a few spots to plug in this cable. Look for the numbered ‘ports’ on the back side to plug into - like these ones:
5. The app will begin the Discovery process.
This may take between 5 to 10 minutes! If you want to go for a snack, that’s okay, but track your time because you won’t want to miss this success screen!
You'll see "Connection Success" when you're finally registered.
6. Once connected to the internet, you will have two options for final setup under ‘I have Wi-Fi or I don't have Wi-Fi’.
7. Select 'I have Wi-Fi': We will take you to a page where you can select your home network which be sure to choose 2.4GHz, not 5GHz whenever possible. Select your network and enter the password.
Give us a few minutes to verify the Wi-Fi.
8. You’ll know everything’s looking good once you receive our ‘Success’ message!
Congratulations, your Hub is all set up! Please note, that the Hub needs to be as close to the center of the house as possible. See The Plan for some great location tips.
You’re ready to move on to setting up your Door Detectors and Motion Sensors.
If you cannot connect at all, it might be best for you to contact our friends from Customer Care. They’ll be happy to help.
